Email deliverability is crucial for successful outreach campaigns. One of the critical factors affecting deliverability is the timing of your emails. In this guide, we'll break down how Manyreach's timing controls work, so you can optimize your campaigns for maximum inbox placement.
Manyreach gives you two distinct settings to control the timing of your emails:
What it is: The minimum time a specific email address must wait before sending another email.
Where to find it: In Sender settings under "Minimum Delay Between Emails"
Recommendation: We recommend keeping this setting at 10 minutes for optimal deliverability. This prevents any single email address from appearing automated while still allowing for efficient sending. |
What it is: The minimum time between any two emails in your campaign, regardless of which sender is used.
Where to find it: In Campaign settings under “Daily Sending Limits”
Example: If set to 1 minute, your campaign will send a maximum of one email every minute, alternating between available senders.
The relationship between these two settings determines the overall rhythm of your campaign. Let's see how they interact in different scenarios:
Settings: Campaign Delay = 1 minute, Sender Delay = 10 minutes 9:00 AM: Sender 1 sends email 9:01 AM: Sender 2 sends email 9:02 AM: Sender 3 sends email ...and so on through all senders... 9:09 AM: Sender 10 sends email 9:10 AM: Sender 1 can send again (10-min sender delay expired) 9:11 AM: Sender 2 can send again |
In this case, the campaign progresses steadily at around one email every minute (factoring in a randomized delay), cycling through all senders before reusing any single sender.
Settings: Campaign Delay = 1 minute, Sender Delay = 10 minutes 10:00 AM: Sender 1 sends email 10:01 AM: Sender 2 sends email 10:02 AM: Sender 3 sends email 10:10 AM: Sender 1 becomes available again (10-min sender delay expired) 10:11 AM: Sender 2 becomes available again 10:12 AM: Sender 3 becomes available again |
Here, the campaign quickly uses all available senders, and then must wait for the sender delay to expire before continuing. With few senders, the sender delay becomes the bottleneck.
Goal: Control overall campaign pace
Best for: Larger lists with multiple senders
Example: To send 120 emails evenly throughout a 2-hour period with a 1-minute campaign delay
Goal: Protect individual sender reputation
Best for: Ensuring natural sending patterns for each email address
Example: We recommend keeping the sender delay at 10 minutes to maintain good deliverability while still allowing efficient sending
Mimic Human Behavior: Based on the delay you’ve set, manyreach uses “Random delays” between emails to appear more natural than fixed intervals.
Start Conservative: Begin with our recommended 10-minute sender delay, and adjust the campaign delay based on your volume needs
Match Your Volume: More emails require more senders to maintain healthy sending patterns
The perfect timing setup depends on your specific needs:
High-Volume Campaigns: Use more senders with 30 seconds campaign delays and 10-minute sender delays
Urgency: Maintain 10-minute sender delays while adjusting your campaign delay based on urgency. You can set the campaign level delay to a minimum, which is one second.
Sender Protection: Never reduce sender delay below 10 minutes to protect your domain reputation
By understanding and properly configuring both timing controls, you'll maintain better deliverability while achieving your campaign goals.
Remember that these settings work alongside other important factors like email content, authentication, and domain reputation to determine overall deliverability success.
