# Fixing "This App is Blocked" Error When Connecting Google Accounts

If you receive a "This app is blocked" error message when attempting to connect your Google Workspace or Gmail account to Manyreach, don't worry. This article will guide you through resolving this common issue.

**Understanding the Error**

The "This app is blocked" error typically appears when Google's security settings are preventing Manyreach from accessing your account. This usually happens because OAuth hasn't been properly configured in your Google Workspace settings.

## **Step-by-Step Solution**

### **1\. Check Your Google Workspace Admin Settings**

1. Log in to your Google Workspace Admin console at [admin.google.com](https://admin.google.com/)

2. Navigate to the **Users** section

3. Verify that the users you're trying to connect to Manyreach are listed and active

### **2\. Configure API Access Control Settings**

1. In the Google Admin console, go to **Security**

2. Click on **Access and data control**

3. Select **API Controls**

4. Click on **Manage third-party app access**

### **3\. Enable OAuth for Manyreach**

1. In the API Controls section click on "Configure new app" and search Manyreach using the Client ID shown on the manyreach documentation

2. Select **All users can access** to allow all users to connect Manyreach

3. Make sure the OAuth scopes include Gmail and necessary Google services

4. Click **Continue** and then **Save** to apply the changes

### **4\. Clear Your Browser Cache**

1. Close any open sessions with Google accounts

2. Open an incognito/private browsing window

3. Log in to your Manyreach account through this fresh browser session

### **5\. Reconnect Your Google Account**

1. In Manyreach, navigate to the **Senders** section

2. Click on **Add Sender**

3. Select **Connect Google Workspace using OAuth**

4. Follow the Google authentication flow

5. Approve the requested permissions

## **Troubleshooting Common Issues**

### **If You Still See the Blocked App Error**

1. **Check Admin Rights:** Ensure you have admin privileges in your Google Workspace

2. **Review API Permissions:** Verify that API access is not restricted by organizational policies

3. **Check for Typos:** Ensure you're using the correct Google Workspace account
    (obvious but, most overlooked 🙂)

### **For Individual Gmail Accounts**

If you're connecting a personal Gmail account rather than a Google Workspace account:

1. Go to your [Google Account Security Settings](https://myaccount.google.com/security)

2. Navigate to **Security** > **Less secure app access**

3. Consider using App Passwords instead (requires 2-Step Verification to be enabled)

**Pro Tip:** For cold email outreach, we recommend using Google Workspace accounts rather than personal Gmail accounts. Google Workspace offers better deliverability and fewer connection issues with third-party tools like Manyreach.

## **Alternative Connection Method**

If you continue experiencing issues with OAuth, Manyreach also supports connecting Google accounts using App Passwords:

1. Go to the **Senders** section in Manyreach

2. Click **Add Sender**

3. Select **Connect Gmail using App Password**

4. Follow the instructions to generate and use an App Password

**Important Note:** Using App Passwords requires you to have 2-Step Verification enabled on your Google account. Follow our separate guide on setting up App Passwords if you choose this method.
