# SPF, DMARC and DKIM: Google Domain & Google Workspace

Setup SPF, DKIM and DMARK for your Google Domain & Google Workspace to configure DNS records for validated emails.

If you’re using **Google Workspace** for your business email and hosting your domain with **Google Domains**, you’ll need to configure the right DNS records. Once the DNS record is set then you can start your cold email outreach.

This article will help you to set-up SPF, DKIM, and DMARK for your Google domain and Google workspaces to configure your DNS records.

## Connecting Google Domains to Google Workspace

You can link your Google Domain to Google Workspace in just a few steps. By granting Google Workspace access, it will automatically create and manage the required DNS records for you.

Follow these steps to connect:

1. First sign in to both your **Google Admin Console** and then to your **Google Domains** account.

2. Then go to **Accounts → Domains**, in the Admin Console.

3. After that select **Manage domains** and click **Add a domain**.

4. Now you have to enter your domain name and choose the **Secondary domain**.

5. Then you’ve to click **Add domain & Start verification** to confirm ownership.

6. After that  log in with the domain owner credentials to verify if your Google Domains account is different from your Workspace admin account.

7. Then allow Workspace admin to manage the domain on your behalf.

8. Once done, click **Add**, then proceed to **Go to Google Workspace**.

9. Finally, your domain will appear as connected in Google Workspace after the ownership is verified.

## Setting up MX, SPF, and DKIM Records

After the verification is done, Google Workspace will make it easy to configure MX, SPF, and DKIM.

After that you can follow these steps to set your MX, SPF and DKIM Records:

1. First, you’ve to log in to the **Google Workspace Admin Console**.

2. Then go to **Accounts** and then to the **Domains**.

3. Over there, click the **Manage domains** option.

4. Now, find your connected domain and select the **Activate Gmail** option.

5. Then click the **Set up MX Record**, and then **Next**.

6. After that sign in to your **Google Domains** account when you’re prompted.

7. Now, you’ve to authorize the connection, and Google will automatically update your DNS with MX, SPF, and DKIM records.

8. Finally click the **Yes, connect** to confirm.

You can view these records directly inside your Google Domains DNS settings.

## Adding a DMARC Record

Unlike MX, SPF, and DKIM, Google doesn’t create a DMARC record by default, so you'll have to add it manually.

So to set the DMARC Record, you’ve to do this:

1. First, go to your **Google Domains → DNS settings**.

2. Then expand the **Custom records** section and click **Add record**.

3. Now enter the following details:

- **Host name**: **\_dmarc**

- **Type**: TXT

- **Value**:
    **v=DMARC1; p=none; sp=none; pct=100; rua=**[**mailto:your-email@yourdomain.com**](mailto:your-email@yourdomain.com)**; ri=86400; aspf=s; adkim=s; fo=1**

_(You just have to replace_ [**_your-email@yourdomain.com_**](mailto:your-email@yourdomain.com) _with your own email address to receive DMARC reports.)_

- **TTL**: Choose the lowest available option.

This record will give you visibility into unauthorized usage of your domain and let you decide how receiving servers should treat unauthenticated messages.

That’s it! Your **Google Domain + Workspace** setup will be authenticated with **SPF, DKIM, and DMARC**, making your outreach campaigns through **Manyreach** more secure and reliable.
